<Alchemist> concentrate  the similarities between lead before it is turned into gold, the body that is required to treat and evolve, and the work made during the process. And  it tells that they are physical objects that have not reached their goal.


The briefcase, named Alchemist, is reminiscent of a herbal medicine cabinet by the smell of Chinese characters and medicinal herbs engraved in each drawer, but in the drawer, there are various paintings and sculptures related to the body instead of medicinal materials. As a result, the owner of the briefcase is reminiscent of a mixture of writers, alchemists, and doctors.

Alchemy showed that the mind toward a better state of matter was made in the hierarchy of metals, grinding lead toward gold and generating a third metal that did not become gold. In addition, artists also aims for a more complete work and generates drawings, esquisse, and material experimental results. Furthermore, the body of contemporaries is located in a transition period of treatment and evolution due to the mind that aims for a healthier physical state. As such, alchemists, artist, and doctors assume a hierarchy of physical states, so lead, process work, and the body of contemporaries are evaluated as incomplete physical objects.

<연금술사>는 금으로 바뀌기 전인 납, 치료와 진화의 필요성을 요구받는 몸 그리고 과정 중에 만들어진 작업이 가진 유사점을 조명한다. 그리고 그들이 지향점에 도달하지 못한 물리적인 대상 임을 이야기한다.

연금술사라는 이름을 가진 서류함은 서랍마다 새겨진 한자과 약재 냄새에 의해 한약장을 연상시키지만, 서랍 안에는 약재 대신 신체와 관련된 다양한 그림과 조각품이 들어있다. 이로 인해 서류함의 소유자는 작가, 연금술사 그리고 의사의 모습이 뒤섞인 인물로 연상된다.

연금술은 보다 나은 물질 상태를 지향하는 마음이 금속의 위계 속에서 이루어진 모습으로, 금을 향해 납을 연마하며 금이 되지 못한 제3의 금속을 발생시켰다. 그리고 작가 또한 보다 완성도 높은 작품을 지향하며 드로잉, 에스키스, 재료 실험 결과물 등을 발생시킨다. 나아가 보다 건강한 신체 상태를 지향하는 마음에 의해 동시대인의 신체는 치료와 진화의 과도기 속에 위치한다. 이처럼 연금술사, 작가 그리고 의사는 물리적인 상태의 위계를 상정하기에, 납과 과정작 그리고 동시대인의 신체는 미완성된 물리적 대상으로서 평가받는다.
