<Father and Son> borrows the relationship between parents and children, Daedalus and Icarus, and talks about a one-way physical consumption relationship of caring labor.

Painting featuring Daedalus and Icarus is generally depicted as an older father putting wings on his young son. At this time, Daedalus' body, which is rougher and darker than Icarus, shows the physical aging that parents have experienced from the labor of caring for their children. As such, striving for the health of others results in an experience that consumes one's own health.

This one-way sacrifice relationship is also revealed in sewing embroidery. When beautifully embroidered on the front, the trajectory of the messy thread is inevitably drawn on the back. Therefore, while the body of a child is the front of beautifully embroidered sewing, it can be seen that the trajectory of aging becomes the same as the back of the remaining sewing.

However, since the parents were also children of someone, they had a smooth body like the front of sewing, but as they became parents, the trajectory of aging would have gradually been added. Accordingly, the wings (body) of the father, Daedalus, are expressed as sewing with unclear front and back, and the wings (body) of the son, Icarus, are expressed as smooth sewing with clear front and back.

<아버지와 아들>은  부모와 자식인 다이달로스와 이카로스의 관계를 차용하여, 돌봄 노동의 일방향적인 신체 소모 관계를 이야기한다.

다이달로스와 이카로스가 등장하는 회화는 일반적으로 나이 든 아버지가 어린 아들에게 날개를 달아주는 모습으로 그려진다. 이때 이카로스에 비해 거칠고 어두운 다이달로스의 몸은 부모가 자식을 돌보는 노동으로부터 겪은 신체적 노화를 보여준다. 이처럼 타인의 건강을 위해 애쓰는 일은 곧 자신의 건강을 소모하는 경험으로 귀결된다.

이러한 일방향적인 희생 관계는 바느질로 수를 놓는 일에서도 드러난다. 앞면에 아름답게 수를 놓으면 필연적으로 그 뒷면에는 지저분한 실의 궤적이 그려진다. 그러므로 자식의 몸은 아름답게 수놓인 바느질의 앞면인데 반해, 부모의 몸은 노화의 궤적이 남은 바느질의 뒷면과 같아진다고 볼 수 있다.

하지만 부모 또한 누군가의 자식이었기에 바느질의 앞면처럼 매끄러운 몸이었으나, 부모가 되면서 점차 노화의 궤적이 덧입혀진 몸이 되었을 것이다. 이에 따라 아버지인 다이달로스의 날개(몸)는 앞 뒷면이 불분명한 바느질로, 아들인 이카로스의 날개(몸)는 앞 뒷면이 분명한 매끄러운 바느질로 표현된다.
